Mechanical Drafter (Level 1-3)

SUMMARY 

Develop simple two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) design drawings and modifications for mechanical equipment, dies, tools, controls, and/or products using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Investigate and procure all data required to construct CAD drawings, kits, or assemblies, and prepares manufacturing instructions

·         Process Bill of Materials and engineering changes

·         Assist Designers and Engineers with design modifications and upgrades to existing tools, tooling and machines

·         Accurately finalize the documentation for the implemented changes

·         Apply basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to drawings as necessary

·         Utilize CAD software, Teamcenter® PLM system, ERP system, and standard Microsoft® Office software

LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

·         No supervisory responsibilities

LEVEL 1: 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

·         Requires one of the following:

o   High school diploma or equivalent with at least one year of experience, OR

o   Associate's degree with classes in Design or Drafting

·         Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models

·         Basic grasp of engineering drawing and principles

·         Ability to understand materials and manufacturing processes

·         Strong attention to detail and accuracy

·         Ability to successfully prioritize, and organize multiple projects, deadlines, and tasks with little supervision in both team and independent environments

·         Good verbal and written skills necessary to communicate intricate job-related information

·         Understanding and application of decimals and fractions

·         Ability to learn how to use software and systems such as Teamcenter® PLM system and SAP

·         Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license

LEVEL 2:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

·         Requires one of the following:

o   High school diploma or equivalent with at least 4 years of experience, OR

o   Associate's degree with classes in Design or Drafting and 2 years of experience

·         Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models

·         Experience creating BOM or Parts List

·         Understanding of engineering drawing and principles

·         Understanding of materials and manufacturing processes

·         Strong attention to detail and accuracy

·         Ability to successfully prioritize, and organize multiple projects, deadlines, and tasks with little supervision in both team and independent environments

·         Good verbal and written skills necessary to communicate intricate job-related information

·         Understanding and application of decimals and fractions

·         Ability to learn how to use software and systems such as Teamcenter® PLM system and SAP

·         Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport

LEVEL 3:

·         Requires one of the following:

o   High school diploma or equivalent with at least 6 years of experience, OR

o   Associate's degree with classes in Design or Drafting and 4 years of experience

o    

·         Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models

·         Experience creating BOM or Parts List

·         Understanding of engineering drawing and principles

·         Understanding of materials and manufacturing processes

·         Good color vision with the ability to visualize concepts in 3D

·         Strong attention to detail and accuracy

·         Ability to successfully prioritize, and organize large, complex projects, deadlines, and tasks with little supervision in both team and independent environments

·         Good verbal and written skills necessary to communicate intricate job-related information

·         Understanding and application of decimals and fractions

·         Ability to learn how to use software and systems such as Teamcenter® PLM system and SAP

·         Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport
