DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Federal Mogul's Powertrain Division is looking for a Technical Sales Manager that will be responsible for OE and Aftermarket customer support. This work includes accountability for the business growth (product combined with application and sales) of industrial ignition products within the North America region and supporting customers specializing in power generation, oil and gas, heating, and on-highway transportation segments within industrial and energy gas markets. This person will become a valued member of our Ignition Sales team, where we strive to promote from within wherever possible; therefore, opportunities for
advancement are strong.

An ideal candidate for this position is a candidate who possesses a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Economics/Business with a technical background and understanding and proven professional experience in industrial (non-automotive) customers and markets. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to negotiate strategically and self-starter who is willing to take leadership in seeking new business opportunities are all necessary qualifications for this position.

You'll first hear from someone in Human Resources to schedule a phone screen, and then the next step will be a personal interview with our Director of Global Sales and Application Engineering for Industrial Ignition. RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Evaluate and keep record of Federal-Mogul's competitive position and market share for every customer on a continuous basis.
* Identify and monitor the long-term development trends marked out by customers as well as competitors' strategies and activities.
* Identify and propose new business opportunities in consultation with Sales and Application Engineering.
* Act as technical interface to the customer/market.
* Act as project manager for variant introduction into the local market including APQP, design definition, coordination of on engine testing, simultaneous engineering with global engineering teams and manufacturing plants.

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:
Bachelors of Engineering or Economics/Business with a technical background and understanding.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
* Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in a sales or application engineering function.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Familiarity with industrial (non-automotive) customers and markets.
* Familiarity with product introduction processes (APQP, etc.) and quality management systems.
* Advanced level of MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point); proven ability to learn software applications.
* Must be able to convey and present information.
* Be able to reach agreements through flexibility and compromise.
* Utilize effective and sufficient influence to drive results without direct exercise of command.
