Distribution Sales Manager Trainee

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Receives training and performs duties in several departments at a distribution center such as Accounts Receivable, Operations, Inside and Outside Sales, Purchasing and Management.
  • Shadows contractors/builders, service/maintenance, and retail store customers to learn their aspect of the swimming pool, irrigation and landscaping business.
  • Learns management viewpoints and company policies and procedures that affect each phase of business.
  • Participates in four classroom management training sessions at the EDGEucation Center in Plano, Texas.
  • Informs distribution sales center manager of training lessons and concepts learned after each visit to the EDGEucation Center.
  • Observes experienced employees to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures, and standards of performance for a successful distribution sales center.
  • Gives comprehensive presentation to senior level management upon completion of the MIT program.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Industrial Distribution, Supply Chain Management, Management, Selling & Sales Management, Entrepreneurship, Marketing or other related discipline with a minimum of 2.5 GPA.
  • Distribution or sales internship preferred.
  • Affiliation with Supply Chain Management Association, Delta Sigma Pi, Pi Sigma Epsilon, APICS a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Results driven, self-starter with the ability to lead a team with rapidly changing priorities.
  • Ability to speak effectively to customers, employees and all levels of management.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite with ability to learn inventory system and additional software.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Display a motivated, passionate, customer service attitude.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Willingness and ability to relocate during and after the program (at company expense) for career development opportunities.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time.
