2017 Credit Intern (Agribusiness) - Sacramento, CA

At CoBank, our Regional Agribusiness Credit Intern is responsible for reviewing, verifying and spreading customer financials. This intern will also conduct multiple term reviews for CoBank’s direct customers and purchased participations. In addition, this intern will participate in various administrative servicing actions which include credit actions for collateral releases, extensions of revolving lines and reporting covenants. A typical project as a Regional Agribusiness Credit intern may include conducting an in-depth analysis of pooling cooperatives in the Western Region. CoBank interns learn real-life business skills and assist with a variety of credit projects that have impact on the bank’s operations. This is a paid position for undergraduate and graduate students working toward a degree in Agricultural Business, Business, Finance, Economics and Agricultural Economics.

In addition, various training courses are available throughout the summer and a temporary housing allowance is available for qualified interns.

This intern position is located in our Sacramento office.

Basic Qualifications
• High school diploma and 1-2 years relevant experience or education.
• Currently enrolled in and working toward a degree in Agricultural Business, Business, Finance, Economics and Agricultural Economics.
• Demonstrated skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications and other office equipment.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to model in Excel.
• Aptitude for learning other software applications.
• Ability to perform research across multiple systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communications.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in banking or financial services industry.
• Basic understanding of financial statements and accounting concepts.
• Knowledge of cooperative principles and the desire to expand in this area.
