2017 Credit Intern (Agribusiness) - Omaha, NE

At CoBank, our Regional Agribusiness Credit Intern assists with the renewal and term review process for our regional customers. This intern will have the opportunity to attend customer meetings, present credit reports to the Senior Leadership Team and analyze interim financial statements. In addition, this intern will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing and spreading industry specific projections and budgets. A typical project as a Regional Agribusiness Credit intern may include an in-depth analysis on qualified vs. non-qualified patronage (e.g. benefits, challenges, tax implications for customers). CoBank interns learn real-life business skills and assist with a variety of credit projects that have impact on the bank’s operations. This is a paid position for undergraduate and graduate students working toward a degree in Finance, Agribusiness, Business, Economics or Accounting.

In addition, various training courses are available throughout the summer and a temporary housing allowance is available for qualified interns.

This intern position is located in our Omaha office.

Basic Qualifications
• High school diploma and 1-2 years relevant experience or education.
• Currently enrolled in and working toward a degree in Finance, Agribusiness, Business, Economics or Accounting.
• Demonstrated skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications and other office equipment.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to model in Excel.
• Aptitude for learning other software applications.
• Ability to perform research across multiple systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communications.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in banking or financial services industry.
• Basic understanding of financial statements and accounting concepts.
• Knowledge of cooperative principles and the desire to expand in this area.
