2017 Credit Intern (Agribusiness) - Enfield, CT
At CoBank, our Regional Agribusiness Credit Intern conducts cash flow, balance sheet, profitability, liquidity, and solvency analysis for credit reports. This intern will have the opportunity to analyze the composition of the Enfield Portfolio by utilizing average daily loan balances and interest rate spreads. In addition, this intern will partake in various portfolio management activities by addressing compliance, legal and closing issues. A typical project as a Regional Agribusiness Credit intern may include conducting an in-depth analysis on the Enfield Dairy Portfolio. CoBank interns learn real-life business skills and assist with a variety of credit projects that have impact on the bank’s operations. This is a paid position for undergraduate and graduate students working toward a degree in Finance, Agricultural Economics or related discipline.
In addition, various training courses are available throughout the summer and a temporary housing allowance is available for qualified interns.
This intern position is located in our Enfield office.
Basic Qualifications
• High school diploma and 1-2 years relevant experience or education.
• Currently enrolled in and working toward a degree in Finance, Agricultural Economics or related discipline.
• Demonstrated skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications and other office equipment.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to model in Excel.
• Aptitude for learning other software applications.
• Ability to perform research across multiple systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communications.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in banking or financial services industry.
• Knowledge of cooperative principles and the desire to expand in this area.
