Before & After Care Site Coordinator: Light of the World Academy (part-time)

Under the supervision of the Child Care Director and in accordance with the mission and purpose of the Ann Arbor YMCA, the Site Coordinator is responsible for programming and supervision of activities that will ensure child’s personal safety while providing entertainment, physical challenges, and learning experiences. The Site Coordinator will dedicate 60% in ratio programming and 40% up holding administration responsibilities including the development of all staff and over all supervision of licensed child care site. Act as lead teacher for before and after care room.

High school diploma or equivalent is required.  Minimum of 2 years of college completed in a related field is required. Degree in Elementary Education, Early Child Care or related field preferred.  Minimum of 15 clock hours, 1 semester hour or 1.5 CEU (Continuing Education Units) in school-age training, with documentation required. (DHS accepts a transcript).  Must have physical examination, including satisfactory TB test six (6) months prior to beginning work or 30 days after.  A minimum of one year’s experience in an early childhood setting working with children ages 4-14 is required. Supervisory experience in a child care setting and program development experience strongly preferred.  Learn and use YMCA specific software within 30 days of hire.  Certification in CPR and First Aid are required within 60 days of employment.

Support the mission, vision and goals of the Ann Arbor YMCA; promote character development and the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.  Work with Child Care Director on compliance with NAEYC and State Licensing regulations.  Responsible for meeting health codes and maintaining standards for State/DHS licensing  Model positive adult-to-child and adult-to-adult interactions, and foster an atmosphere of respect for children and adults. Maintain proper behavior of children at all times with strict adherence to both YMCA policies.  Perform administrative work including directing and answering phone calls, creating and maintaining inventory control, completing payroll for staff at site location, child and staff file maintenance. Adhere to all fiscal policies and procedures, including collecting and processing participant tuition payments and program registrations.  Provide shift coverage in classroom as needed.  Attend child development trainings and educational opportunities.  Gain knowledge of all classrooms and programs within YMCA programming in Pinckney.
