Business Development Manager (Various Locations)
JOB SUMMARY
Identify, pursue, close and manage new business opportunities regionally by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Obtain new business for services offered by the company
• Provides customer service to existing customers to maintain and grow their testing portfolio
• Meet with key clients, maintain relationships, negotiate and close deals
• Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly
• Review market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates
• Represent company at trade association meetings to promote company’s services
• Delivers sales presentations to clients
• Prepare sales reports presenting sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion
• Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of the competition
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university required, preferably in food microbiology or food science
• 2-3 years food related sales preferred or technical sales experience within specific region
• Cold calling experience preferred
• Must be able to discuss sciences such as microbiology, chemistry and food safety
• Polished presentation skills including PowerPoint presentations and all ancillary materials
• Microsoft Office proficient
