Legal Administrative Assistant
Responsibilities May Include
Draft routine correspondence for reporting to clients
Prepare patent documents for filing with the Patent & Trademark Office
Make copies, fax documents and pull files as necessary
Maintain client files
Handle incoming electronic communications on behalf of the attorneys and be able to prioritize for them as well as respond appropriately on behalf of the attorneys
Be responsible for heavy calendar/docket management
Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow through on issues in a timely manner
Proofread and edit various legal documents
Provide back-up support at reception
Assist with other tasks as requested by the Legal Staff and/or the Legal Support Staff Supervisor
Skill & Ability Requirements
- Possess a high degree of accuracy and accountability
- Able to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Be a team player and be proactive
- Have excellent organizational skills
- Have excellent writing skills
- Above average working knowledge Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Four-year college degree with minimum of cum laude designation
- Interest in chemistry or biology and/or with a future goal to attend either law or medical school, beneficial but not required
- Training in the area of patent law is provided
