Research Internship Celebrities & Fashion Spring/Summer 2016
Our newly updated research internship will focus on finding pics, video, comments on all varieties of social media and passing it on to writers, as well as supporting writers by finding posts they can use. Instagram, Tumblr, Reddit and Snapchat will be go-to platforms - and you'll work on ours, not your own while you dig so you can compile info without interfering with your own platforms.
For example, a recent story on Jeopardy did exceptionally well on Facebook, and that was written solely because a couple of us thought it was fun. Turns out, our readers enjoyed it as well!
We used the My Little Pony sub-Reddit to share a story on the new movie - Redditers got upset with our photo and comments went crazy. But they read our story!
Instagram photos of Sofia Vergara’s wedding went viral, and we had the story early because we were on Instagram when she posted them.
Your primary goal will be to think like a reader and help writers get that information out.

- To improve research skills on social media platforms
- Help add to a growing network of followers by offering readers what they want to read
- Support writers, including other interns, in finding and researching for stories
- To learn time management in a virtual setting
