Junior Brand Strategist

Job Title: Junior Brand Strategist

Strategist carefully study and research consumer motivations, behaviors, cultural influences and brand relationships. Using this knowledge and some key gut instincts, they help steer the agency to understand the client’s consumer, competitive landscape and cultural context. They then help develop outstanding brand experiences that help solve the client’s problem.

Qualities:

A good Strategist is a story teller at heart. They are curious, always asking ‘why?’ They are resourceful and creative in their ability to hunt and gather information, interpret and sift through it, establish general useful insights, and interpret this information into a compelling strategic story for the agency to easily understand and develop creative brand experiences around.

Specific Responsibilities & Expectations

·       Be a student of culture: Monitor cultural and social trends, and their impact on consumers'' attitudes, behavior and perceptions, using a variety of market and research data. Help the Strategy department understand how their brands can tap into current cultural waves

·       Work with the Strategy Director to turn research into insights for strategy and creative development

·       Ability to get smart fast with existing tools - (Mintel, Simmons, client databases, etc.)

·       Be strategic and able to see the big picture –participate in strategic initiatives for clients and new business

·       Basic understanding of strategy beyond traditional marketing –comfort with digital, promotional, and retail strategy in addition to overall brand strategy

·       Work with Strategy Director to craft creative briefs, and continue working with creatives to bring out great work

·       Assist in Deck/Presentation development (formatting, finding images, clips, quotes, etc.)

·       Work directly with research desk: write requests of information, manage the deliverables and synthesize the outputs

·       Assist in gathering necessary materials, i.e. finding already existing work examples or POV's

·       Some knowledge of how to work with both qualitative research and quantitative data

·       Be a team player: work in a collaborative environment and proactively look for how to contribute

 

 

Qualifications & Experience:

•         Bachelor’s required, preferably in a social / human-oriented field (e.g., Sociology,

•         Psychology, Anthropology, etc.) or communication / marketing (e.g., Integrated

•         Marketing, Brand Planning, Market Research, etc.).

•         Excellent communication and strong writing skills

•         Given the changes in communication, familiarity with the latest trends and development in social media and interactive and is appreciated

•         Must be eligible to work in the US

•         Graduation period between May 2015-August 2016
