Liquidity Associate/Consultant

Liquidity Associate/Consultants work in the Liquidity Practice group, assisting a wide range of clients with the application of QRM’s risk management methods and models, focusing on issues in liquidity risk management. Key areas of focus include liquidity stress-testing, funding management, collateral management, balance sheet forecasting and optimization, and regulatory-compliance reporting.
The role features a balance of team-based and individual assignments, many of which provide Liquidity Associates/Consultants the opportunity to explore specific areas of interest.

Skill Set
Liquidity Associates/Consultants are expected to solve problems quickly and to effectively communicate solutions to a wide audience, including senior risk managers, actuaries, traders, and internally to other members of the QRM organization.  
Qualified candidates will possess:
  • Excellent analytical thinking, critical evaluation, problem solving, and written and oral communication skills
  • Strong computer knowledge, particularly with respect to databases and spreadsheets
  • Technical knowledge of SQL, SSIS, and OLAP is a significant plus, though not required
  • The ability to thrive in a loosely structured, entrepreneurial environment
  • An outstanding academic record
 
Background/Experience
QRM will consider candidates with an academic background or employment history that demonstrates an interest in finance, economics, actuarial science, and/or accounting. While job experience is desirable, we continually work with employees to develop their skills. Specifically, we are looking for candidates who possess the following:
  • A quantitative educational background, undergraduate or graduate. A degree in economics, finance, actuarial science, engineering, mathematics, or physics is preferred
  • Experience in liquidity risk management; liquidity-related treasury activities, including execution-side activities; and/or supporting liquidity regulatory reporting
  • Experience in financial modeling, interest-rate risk management, investment analysis, trading, banking, and/or life insurance
  • Experience with market research, requirements-gathering, design assistance, quality assurance, documentation, and training for product management or support

Responsibilities include the following:
  • Responding to client queries concerning liquidity risk exposure analysis, financial modeling, and validation of liquidity risk management strategies
  • Supporting clients’ liquidity risk management processes via remote connection and with occasional travel to client sites for working sessions
  • Interacting with the Product Development and Management groups to design and test new modeling capabilities
  • Producing the necessary materials for prospective client demonstrations, including RFPs/RFIs
