Program Publicity Intern

Assist the Publicity, Events, and Corporate Communications with implementing PR plans and campaigns, tactics, and ongoing departmental activities.

 

  • Press Clips process
  • Keeping track of publicity closet items and create press gift bags
  • Updating press lists
  • Maintaining Launch Memo’s
  • Answering phones, arranging messengers and other administrative task
  • Write Starz Central internal communications stories; possible personnel announcements
  • Update Media Room assets including press releases and photos
  • Help in organizing departmental mail/newspaper/periodical organization
  • Update/maintain master event calendar; research executive speaking opportunities
  • Update corporate executive biographies and other corporate background materials
  • Gift and premiums research, samples, orders
  • Talent travel – proofing itineraries, working with travel on finding flight options
  • Process and identify Starz photo library requests
  • Assist in drafting company tune-in alerts
  • Assemble project clip Reports
  • Assemble daily clips

Required Skills

Entering junior, senior year or graduate student

 

  • Keen interest in television
  • Social media savvy
  • Methodical with great organizational skills
  • Clear communicator
  • Ability to multi task
  • Good writing and editing skills
  • Must have some prior experience in an office environment
  • Freshman through graduate level course work at an accredited college/university with a major in Communication Studies, Public Relations or similar discipline; An academic grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4 point scale for the most recent academic session (quarter/semester);
  • General computing knowledge for Windows platform and the Microsoft Office suite;
  • Ability to communicate effectively visually, orally and in writing;
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and logical analysis.

 

Candidates must currently be enrolled in an accredited degree program and meet one of the following criteria to be eligible:

·        Current undergraduate student entering your junior or senior year

·        Graduate student (MA, MS, MBA or JD)
