Elementary Teacher - Full-time - One Year Position 2018-19 School Year

FULL-TIME ELEMENTARY TEACHER

ONE YEAR ~ 2018-19 SCHOOL YEAR

BIRCHVIEW ELEMENTARY

 The Ishpeming School District announces a one year temporary position for a full-time elementary teacher, as of the 2018-19 school year.  Candidates must possess a minimum of a B.A./B.S. degree;  appropriate  Michigan elementary certification; and must meet the MDE/USDOE highly qualified requirements. 

 Candidates must possess a strong instructional background in reading,  mathematics, science, and social studies.  Candidates must possess the ability to provide instruction in writing.  Candidates must possess strong instructional skills.  Candidates must be prepared to become familiar with the MDE Grade Level Content Expectations, Standards and Benchmarks, and State standardized testing.  Candidates must possess the ability to direct and manage elementary students.  Candidates must possess the ability to work closely with parents.  Candidates must possess organization and planning skills.  Candidates must possess the ability to implement the use of instructional technology in the classroom.  Candidates must be prepared to implement a Response To Intervention (RTI) strategy.  A background in RTI is preferred especially in the areas of math and reading.

 The Board of Education may employ a candidate with such alternative qualifications that the Board may find to be acceptable and appropriate.
