GOAL
Our Community Foundation Americorps* VISTA Hunger Relief Systems Coordinator will build systems that effectively provide access to healthy food throughout the Eagle River Valley. The Americorps VISTA member will work directly with Our Community Foundation and help to establish an exciting new initiative, the Eagle River Valley Food Bank.
Job Duties:
The VISTA member will:
· Establish mobile distribution hubs within neighborhoods, working with property managers and neighborhood residents
· Build customer registration base for food access and determine accessible delivery times
· Engage local partnerships with organizations that are working on hunger relief projects
· Create and implement awareness campaign through social media, advertisements, partnerships and feedback loop for customers
· Work closely with other local Americorps VISTAS to coordinate expanded opportunities for customers
Terms: This is a full time one-year service position, working from the food warehouse in Gypsum. Vehicle recommended; this position will accommodate school attendance during off hours
Program Benefits: Living allowance, training, vacation, sick and personal leave. Choice of Americorps Education Award or End of Service Stipend.
Qualifications: This position requires an individual who is efficient,
organized, self-motivated, and a great team player with:
- Spanish speaking skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work with and maintain sensitivity to diverse individuals and communities
- Good time-management skills
- Computer literacy
- Understanding of collaboration and partnership building
