High School Principal


Position: High School Principal


Qualifications Include:

  • Minimum of a Masters Degree in Education or Administration

  • Possession of/or eligibility to meet and obtain the requirements for State of Michigan Administrative Certification as Secondary Administrator

  • Proven experience with curriculum

  • At least five (5) years teaching experience at the secondary level


Major Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and grow a positive school climate with staff and students

  • Analyze student schievement data and use educational research as the foundational principle in the decision making process

  • Collaborate and engage staff in the School Improvement Process

  • Collaborate and engage staff in Multi-Tiered System of Support

  • Possess the ability to foster the growth of staff members

  • Evaluate performance and effectiveness of instructional practices and staff

  • Organize and facilitate building level inservice and professional development

  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse and at-risk student population

  • Development of an effective parental and community support program


Technology Skills:

  • Outstanding skills with Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc

  • Skilled at creating a social media presence


Personal Skills:

  • Ability to listen and accept input

  • Ability to seek input

  • Visable, Approachable, Accessible  


Location: Hart High School


Contracted Days: 235


Estimated Starting Date: August 1, 2018


Reports to: Superintendent of Schools


Salary: Salary Range:  $82,000 - $88,000
