Spanish Immersion Internship in Bolivia
FSD offers the option of studying Spanish while completing an International Development Internship. This is a chance for students and young adults to gain experience in sustainable development and insight into other cultures that can only be obtained through direct experience, and language is a key component to successful project implementation. With the Language Immersion program, interns can increase their language skills before and during their international development fieldwork.
This program has been customized with two options, Level 1: Beginner, and Level 2: Intermediate. Interns receive individual language instruction, and flexible course options.
FSD’s programs let you work directly in service-based internships. Interns will be able to work in one of many development sectors ranging from public health, education, gender equity, environmental sustainability, human rights, and microfinance while studying Spanish. Interns are matched with a community organization, learn about their priorities, and work with their host-colleagues to develop a project plan that aligns with the organization's mission.

FSD internships are designed and structured for university students and recent graduates. A strong emphasis is placed on experiential learning, meaning that interns are learning through the implementation of key phases of work in their internship. FSD site teams conduct training and reflection sessions to assist interns during their cultural integration and during their project planning and development work. We strive to ensure relationships of reciprocal benefit, meaning that both the community and intern benefits from the experience.
