Corp Partnerships Belmont Intern

Job Overview

Coordinates all sponsorship activation at Belmont Park to ensure client satisfaction and adherence to contractual requirements, as well as guest engagement. Handles NYRA procurement, orders vendor materials and coordinates sponsorship contests, sampling, displays and activations, hospitality and credentialing, trophy presentations, and signage placement.  

Responsibilities

Administers industry and corporate sponsorship events at Belmont Park, which involves:

  • Reviewing contracts for event details, planning for NYRA internal and vendor external resources and hospitality to fulfill sponsorship elements
  • Checking calendar to determine if facilities are available and coordinating activation details with all relevant NYRA personnel including security, events, racing, and operations.
  • Scheduling sponsorship print media, coordinating design and ordering signage
  • Maintaining the appearance of sponsors’ on-track vehicle and tented display areas on a daily basis;
  • Conducting on track events and contests, greeting contest winners and escorting to winner’s circle or paddock, hosting paddock tours for sponsorship dining guests, winner’s circle trophy presentations with sponsors, escorting potential sponsors on tours of NYRA facilities on foot or by golf cart;

Arranges for on-track events for sponsors under the terms of sponsorship contracts. Attends events to ensure that all preparations have been made, and to assist in the resolution of any problems that arise. Coordinates activities with the Director of Corporate Partnerships, Corporate Partnership Account Executives and Corporate Partnerships Activation Specialist to ensure that all sponsor and guest expectations are met with regard to contests prizes, distribution of sponsor guests’ gifts, programs, food service, floral arrangements, photographs, signage, decorations, and other entertainment assets.

Coordinates work with other areas, e.g. food and beverage concessionaire and facilities supervisors, to ensure an efficient and continuous flow of work and high levels of client satisfaction;

Resolves sponsor complaints by investigating problems and informing Director of Corporate Sponsorships; developing solutions; preparing reports;

Performs other duties as instructed.

Qualifications

  • Educational Level Required:   two years of college study in sports management/marketing or equivalent event coordination experience
  • Minimum Years and Kind of Work Experience Required: seasonal event coordination experience in the thoroughbred racing or sports entertainment industries.
  • Other Requirements: Computer literacy, in particular with PowerPoint, Adobe, and Excel as well as media, sales, and purchasing databases, driver’s license, ability to work the racing schedule, including holidays and weekends. Highly professional appearance and business dress standard for dealing with clients in face-to-face meetings.
