Development Associate Spring 2018

POSITION TITLE: Development Associate

EcoHealth Alliance seeks a Development Associate who will be primarily responsible for assisting the Director of Development in generating revenue, outreach to donors, and maximizing individual, foundation, and corporate relationships working in partnership with the president, senior management teams, board of EcoHealth Alliance, science staff, and partners. This position requires strong organizational skills, an ability to prioritize as well as multi-task. Development of unrestricted revenue is essential to the overall success of EcoHealth Alliance and this role must be dedicated to providing the support needed to assist in securing necessary resources to support programmatic and other activities.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

●      Research and report on foundation, corporate, and other grant opportunities

●      Participate actively in EcoHealth Alliance’s Development Committee

●      Maintain donor records and communicate with finance teams to track funding

●      Send and coordinate donor and other funder letters, acknowledgments, communications, and mailing campaigns

●      Work with EcoHealth Alliance teams to organize fundraising events

●      Create and submit reports to management teams describing effectiveness of fundraising campaigns, events, and other outreach

●      Collaborate with senior management, science, and other EcoHealth Alliance teams to draft and submit funding proposals as well as tracking and reporting on current funding

●      Organize departmental activities, manage events calendars, and take minutes at development and other meetings

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

●      Bachelor’s Degree and 1-3 years related experience

●      Nonprofit and foundation funding experience preferred

●      Demonstrated writing ability and creativity

●      Strong eye for detail

●      Computer literate and proficient in standard word processing, spreadsheet, and database software application

●      Excellent verbal and written communication skill

●      Highly organized and motivated; with strong data management skills

●      Knowledge of and commitment to conservation and health or related fields

●      Fluency in spoken and written English
