Summer Day Camp Counselor
Energetic, kid-loving, accountable individual responsible for assisting camp instructors in providing an amazing camp experience for day campers! The Community House (TCH) runs a variety of different half day and full day, week long camps throughout the summer. Counselors will be responsible for helping to administer an effective camp, ensuring the safety of campers, and engaging with students.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Energetic, kid-loving, accountable individual responsible for assisting camp instructors in providing an amazing camp experience for day campers! The Community House (TCH) runs a variety of different half day and full day, week long camps throughout the summer. Counselors will be responsible for helping to administer an effective camp, ensuring the safety of campers, and engaging with students.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Assist daily with approximately three different camps. Camps will change throughout summer.
- Ensure rules are followed and campers are safe.
- Facilitate care before/after camps, during lunch club and bathroom breaks.
- Coordinate daily signing in and out of campers.
- Communicate concerns regarding campers to appropriate leadership.
- Introduce and implement new team building activities and games for campers.
- Assist instructors as needed.
- Working toward a degree in Communication, Education, Social Services, or other related field.
- Enjoys children.
- Exhibits a patient and caring nature.
- Sensitive and mature individual who is able to relate well to both children and adults.
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Excellent organization and planning skills.
- Previous experience working with young children a plus.
