Recycling Intern, Scrap

Role Overview

Project will involve assembling data about the generation of automotive scrap in North America. The scope will include all automotive OEMs, platforms tiers and suppliers. Further data will include following scrap flows from each generator through scrap processor and aluminum consumer. Project will enable Novelis to more fully understand the North American supply of scrap by alloy and form and will enhance our ability to more successfully target potential scrap supplies to meet S&OP purchase targets, prime reduction efforts as well as achieve cost reduction efforts.

Responsibilities

Working with NNA commercial automotive and recycling teams, intern will

• Develop a database showing all OEMs, platforms, aluminum use by part and expected scrap generation

•  Further understanding will be to work with NNA scrap buyers to understand the flow of scrap through scrap processors and into end markets scrap consumers.

Qualifications

• Sophomore or Junior in college

• Technical Skills: Excel and/or Access database management, supply chain, logistics
