Summer Internship Opportunity- Work on a Democratic Campaign

We are running a highly competitive Democratic campaign in Michigan’s 9th congressional district. We’re seeking ambitious college students to work as interns and participate in a variety of activities on the campaign. Interns will learn the ins and outs of how a campaign is run and will receive invaluable experience and career-building guidance. Participants will leave the program armed with the skills needed to work on campaigns, engage their communities and transform their neighborhoods.

Applicants must:

•Hold progressive values and be committed to the cause of getting Democrats elected

• Be outgoing, friendly, and polite

• Be organized, punctual and extremely hard-working

• Be quick learners who are independent problem solvers

• Be committed to following a schedule and achieving our goals

• Have a car (preferred, not required)

Specific responsibilities include database maintenance, donor research, voter contact, organizing events, and staffing the candidate or other members of the campaign.

If you are a student, the campaign can work with your school on completing any paperwork needed to make this internship for credit. Interns are expected to commit a minimum of 12 hours per week to the campaign. Some work can be completed remotely, however entering the summer months, interns are expected to work in the campaign office.

We are looking for candidates to start immediately and work until the democratic primary in August. To apply, please send your resume and a short note about why you would like to be an intern to rebecca@ellenlipton.com. In the subject line, please include First and Last Name, your school and expected graduation date.  Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until positions are filled.
