Retail Buying & Merchandising in Fashion

Highly successful retailer is seeking candidates who are interested in becoming Retail Buyers & Merchandisers.

You will work among the buying and development teams to learn the appropriate skills; Purchase orders, style number assignments, open to buy, markdowns, margins, cancellations, inventory cadence, stock analysis and generation, while learning to creat Ad hoc reports, etc.

You will also follow up with vendors, shipments via email and/or phone.

Essential background should include:

Bachelor’s Degree with several substantive internships during their college years demonstrating your work ethic.

Excellent communication skills and organizational skills

Solid math aptitude along with a desire to be in the corporate office of the business.

Experience with Excel and comfortable compiling reports/spreadsheets, reading and formatting them.

This a unique opportunity as most retailers have filled their Assistant buyer slots with either last year’s intern conversions or recruiting from On Campus top college events. This is due to growth in the business that was not forecasted !
