Account Executive

Over 250,000 New Yorkers use pulsd every month to discover the very best of their city. Whether it’s access to the best free events (sample sales, open bars, launch parties) or making paid events more affordable (exclusive pricing on restaurants, spas, events, galas etc), we enable New Yorkers to live above their pay grade.

You will be joining a well known media startup that has discovered its product-market fit, and believes that 2018 will be a transformative year for the business as it continues it’s path from single digit millions to double digit millions in revenue.

Our office is in the heart of SoHo - an area of the city which we believe is synonymous with the culture that we are trying to build.

The Account Executive role is responsible for accelerating pulsd’s sales momentum and helping grow a sales team from the ground up. You will be reporting directly to the head of business development and interacting with the CEO on a daily basis.

Account Executives are expected to convert qualified leads generated, as well as generate leads by themselves. An ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, high-energy and be a lateral thinker.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate with a bachelor’s degree from a leading university or liberal arts college.

  • Outgoing, self-starter who can shoulder responsibility in a highly demanding environment.

  • Have a solid understanding of NYC’s entertainment, events and nightlife businesses.

  • Hungry to cultivate and develop new relationships with businesses that will benefit our members.

  • Have excellent communication skills, and be detail-oriented, with an unquenchable thirst to grow the pulsd brand.

  • Comfortable closing new business on the phone and in person

  • Is OK with being rejected because he/she knows he/she will eventually succeed.


Desirable:

  • Experience in a fast paced, outbound sales environment.

  • Team player who will ultimately contribute to the bottom line and do whatever it takes to win individually and as a team.

  • Consistent record of hitting monthly and quarterly quota.

  • Fast learner who can hit the ground running, and generate revenue from the get-go.

  • Experience selling into restaurants and entertainment businesses.

  • Can execute under pressure in a start-up environment.

  • Competent in Salesforce & Google Drive.

  • Assertive, persistent, closer attitude.


What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Drive top line revenue through a high volume of outbound sales calls and emails.

  • Cultivate, own and manage a robust pipeline of businesses in NYC.

  • “Street Team” - in person meetings to build relationships with local businesses.

  • Evaluate merchants that will resonate well with the core pulsd demographic

  • Expand current business relationships and cross-sell
