Elementary Music Teacher

ELEMENTARY MUSIC TEACHER - 1.0 FTE                                     

QUALIFICATIONS:  

Required:                  •   State of Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate (JQ Endorsement)

                                  •   Believes that ALL children can learn and is accepting of differences in students

                                  •   Strong music teaching background and knowledge

 Desired:   

•   Understanding and experience in integrating music into the core curriculum

•   Skilled at utilizing a variety of assessments to inform their teaching•

•   Ability to identify and utilize community resources to enhance the music program

•   Ability to integrate technology in the music classroom

•   Knowledge in teaching to varied learning styles and individual needs

•   Ability to provide students a strong music experience

•   Ability to promote the arts in the school district

•   Demonstrated ability to build music education program within EGRPS by applying prior experience within music education

 •  Desire for continuous growth in the field of elementary music education

 •  Uses the piano for instruction

 •   Desire to work closely with other elementary/middle school music teachers and comprehensive classroom teachers to improve educational offerings to students

 •   Ability to recognize different learning styles and use of differentiated strategies

 •   An appreciation for diversity and a desire to assist all students in becoming
cross-culturally competent

 •   Team approach to planning

 •   Enthusiastic, flexible, ability to work cooperatively with students, parents, teachers and administrators

 •   Willingness and commitment to participate in curriculum development, school improvement committees, and professional development

SALARY:                    Per Contract Schedule
