Lower Elementary Teacher

LOWER ELEMENTARY TEACHER - 1.0 FTE

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:            •  State of Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate

                            •  Believes that ALL children can learn and is accepting of differences in students

                            •   Strong literacy teaching background and knowledge

                            •   ZG Endorsement

Desired:           

•   Understanding of a balanced, literacy-based approach to instruction including guided reading, word work, shared reading, etc.

•   Familiar with Fountas & Pinnell Benchmark Assessment Systems & Continuum

•  Understanding of developmentally-appropriate curriculum

•   Familiar with Units of Study (reading and writing)

•   Skilled at utilizing a variety of assessments to inform their teaching 

•   Knowledgeable about Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)

•  Ability to recognize different learning styles and use of differentiated strategies

•  An  appreciation  for  diversity and a desire to assist all students in becoming
cross-culturally competent 

•  Team approach to planning and school wide initiatives

•  Successful classroom management strategies and skills                                              

•  Ability to use and integrate technology seamlessly

•  Enthusiastic, flexible, and able to work cooperatively with students, parents, teachers and administrators

•   Willingness and commitment to participate in curriculum development, school improvement committees, and professional development

SALARY:                    Per Contract Schedule
