General Accountant


Job Description

Summary: Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepares and enter journal entries into SL.
  • Assists in month-end close process by reviewing accounts, performing variance analysis, reclassifying items to budgeted area, prepares various analytical reports.
  • Reconcile balance sheet account and prepare audit workpapers.
  • Many various duties, including but not limited to:
    • Royalty calculations
    • Assist in budgeting process
    • Compile and prepare information for quarterly and year-end audits.
    • Assist in cash management, including bank reconcilations.
    • Assist in preparation of income tax return workpapers.
    • Calculate and prepare sales and use tax returns.
    • Revenue reporting
    • Assist others in the company with questions on their reports
    • Other projects, as assigned

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Solomon Accounting software; Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word Word Processing software.
