Crisis Clinician

(HPI), a private non-profit corporation, is one of the largest freestanding behavioral healthcare agencies in the area. HPI, accredited by the Joint Commission and licensed by the State of Michigan, provides a broad array of mental health and substance abuse treatment and prevention services to individuals of all ages.

LOCATION: Livonia, MI (Easy access on/off I-96 at Farmington Rd)

STATUS: Full-time & Part-time shifts, 7days a week, 365 days a year

Compensation: $19.00-$23.00/ hr.

For Full-time positions:

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of a Master's Degree in a behavioral health field with a corresponding Michigan license.
  • Some positions require at least 3 years post-degree experience.
  • Substance use disorder and co-occurring disorder experience desirable.
  • Electronic competence for entries, uploading, reviews, retrieving and entering information from and into multiple systems
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent clinical vocabulary and utilization in documentation.
  • Ability to work as a team member.

Three types Crisis Clinician openings full and part-time positions:

  • Telephonic and face-to-face pre-admission- reviewers and call-center support at our stabilization unit.
  • Mobile Crisis Specialists- (Intervention) serving hospital emergency departments.
  • Mobile Crisis Specialists- (Stabilization) providing community-based follow-up.

Each of these positions has responsibilities for assessing crisis and ensuring the appropriate level and amount of care is provided to adults with serious mental illness who have been determined to be in some level of psychiatric crisis. These positions require strong clinical skills and experience working with adults with serious mental illness, excellent written and verbal skills, and the ability to self-manage the unpredictable assignments and flow of activity inherent in a crisis setting.

Risk assessment and disposition determination/authorization

Coordination of care with hospital staff, consumer significant others, guardians, and community providers

Strong clinical documentation to support clinical decisions
