Analyst, Corporate Development & Strategy

ASR Group is the world’s largest refiner and marketer of cane sugar, with an annual production capacity of more than 6 million tons of sugar. The company produces a full line of grocery, industrial, food service and specialty sweetener products. Across North America, ASR Group owns and operates six sugar refineries, located in Louisiana, New York, California, Maryland, Canada and Mexico. In the European Union, the company owns and operates sugar refineries in England, Portugal and Italy.  ASR Group also owns and operates mills in Mexico and Belize. OVERVIEW

The Analyst, Corporate Development & Strategy will perform a wide array of financial and strategic analyses to support senior-level decision making within various key corporate functions, primarily – Finance, M&A and Strategy, New Business Development and Operations. This position will be a high visibility role within the organization, with direct access to C-level executives of the Company.

 

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and manage financial and operating models and valuation analyses
  • Conduct industry research and competitor analyses in the context of organic growth and/or M&A
  • Assist senior management team in select turnaround initiatives of the investee companies such as post-investment integration, financings, add-on acquisitions, etc.
  • Assist in the identification, profiling and due diligence of potential acquisition targets and/or JV partners
  • Assist in the preparation of business plans, capital projects, and cost analyses for ASR and/or its regional businesses
  • Prepare presentation materials to the company’s Executive team in connection with the above analyses
  • Other duties to be performed, as needed

 

WORK EXPERIENCES

  • 0-3 years of work experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, and/or a corporate development role
  • Verbal and written proficiency in English is required
  • Conversational language skill in Spanish or Portuguese is preferred

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics or related discipline from top-tier university
