Operations Analyst

Exotic Automation & Supply is a SE Michigan Industrial Supplier and Custom Manufacturer. Services include:

 

·         Automation and Controls: Design, manufacture and supply hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and components.

·         Hose and Fittings: Distribute hydraulic, pneumatic, industrial hose and fittings.

·         Custom Manufacturing: Design and fabricate custom molded urethane, rubber and machined plastic components.

·         Gasketing: Provide standard gaskets and manufacture custom die cut and spiral wound gaskets.

·         Industrial Materials: Distribute a wide variety of plastic, rubber, packaging, tools, anti-fatigue matting and relating products.

·         Supply Chain Management: Commodity management, kits, bin fill programs and mobile service and repair. 

Exotic’s Operations Department is currently looking for an Operations Analyst to join the team in a full-time capacity.

Under the guidance of the Director of Operations, the Operations Analyst will conduct diagnostic investigations, data analyses and improvement projects in many departments in the company including Accounting, Customer Service, Finance, I.T., Logistics, Manufacturing, Quotations, Pricing, Purchasing, and Warehouse as well as providing support for the ISO-9001:2008 certification.

The Operations Analyst is a hands-on position that will participate in investigations, analyses and projects that focus on optimizing process efficiency, minimizing errors and rework, reducing wait time, improving profitability, reducing cost and maximizing market competitiveness and Operational Excellence.

Outstanding candidates for this position will possess superior data management skills including mastery of Microsoft Excel, a basic understanding of database programs such as Microsoft Access, SQL Server, MySQL or Oracle, a thorough understanding of how to manipulate, manage and maintain the integrity of large datasets, excellent data analysis capabilities to be utilized to find cause and calculate effect, aggregate and summarize data, prepare presentation materials and make course of action recommendations as well as expert skills in the development, tracking, management and presentation of continuous improvement projects.

This position is vital to the continuous improvement of the Operations departments and will impact the overall profitability of the company. This position is a great opportunity for the right candidate to demonstrate the capability to affect positive change in an exciting, dynamic and growing company while building a comprehensive knowledge of the management of business.

Desired experience:

·         Bachelor’s degree in business or related area (will consider equivalent job experience).

·         Two years analytical work experience.

·         Demonstration of solid Project Management ability.

·         Advanced PC Skills. – Primarily MS Excel; knowledge of databases such as Microsoft Access is a plus.

·         Strong mathematical ability.

·         Analytical skills needed to identify root causes of problems, generate alternatives and draw logical conclusions.

·         Organizational skills required to prioritize, plan and coordinate work activities and resources in area of responsibility.

·         Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with associates, customers, business partners and management team. Demonstrated teamwork approach with superiors, peers and subordinates utilizing skills in oral communication, active listening, written and oral directions and cooperating with and assisting others when needed.
