Partnerships and External Affairs Intern, The International Women's Forum

About the Organization: The International Women’s Forum (IWF) builds better leadership by connecting women of significant and diverse achievement. The IWF spans six continents and 33 nations, with 6,800 members in Africa, Asia, Australia, the Caribbean, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and North America. IWF leads training programs for women at all stages of their careers through the Leadership Foundation Fellows program, the EY Women Athletes Business Network and the Executive Development Roundtable program.  

Position:  Intern, Partnerships & External Affairs

Salary: Unpaid, Metro stipend available

Hours: Negotiable 

The Role: IWF seeks flexible and creative applicants for a unique internship experience. The primary responsibility is to provide support across the fundraising and marketing functions of the organization.

  • The role supports the fundraising and marketing efforts of IWF and its charitable arm, the Leadership Foundation.
  • The role supports the development and implementation of IWF’s identity, brand, and messaging through both traditional and non-traditional channels.
  • This role requires cross-collaboration and provides an opportunity to learn about a variety of functions within a global organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

1)       Development & Stakeholder Engagement

·       Help with sponsor relationships and benefits coordination.

·       Help with administrative responsibilities as it relates to fundraising, marketing and projects - to include material development, scheduling travel, etc.

·       Draft materials and communications for internal projects and external stakeholders.

·       Work closely with the Partnerships & External Affairs team to develop presentations and other collateral material for both internal and external audiences.

·       Support weekly fundraising meetings

·       Remain abreast of news and opportunities relevant to IWF programs, women’s leadership, global issues, corporate social responsibility and philanthropy.  

Qualifications: The position calls for a highly organized individual with excellent project management, writing and critical thinking skills. The intern should exhibit a commitment to the mission of IWF and ideally possess the following professional qualifications and personal attributes with a demonstrated ability in each area: 

·       Strong, demonstrated writing skills

·       Ability to be proactive and anticipate needs; a self-starter

·       Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

·       Sensitivity and respect for the diversity of IWF, its membership and constituencies

·       Excellent research skills

·       Attention to detail

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and HTML
