Spa Massage Therapist

Must be available to work varied shifts and weekends.  Starting pay of $2.65/hour + 30% commission with chance for increase at 90 days.     

         

SUMMARY

Must have a thorough knowledge of numerous massage modalities, posses a general understanding of body treatments and be willing to train in our spa’s specific massage and body treatment offerings.  They must possess excellent communication skills and be able to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively provide wellness solutions to meet the needs of our guests.  They must hold and maintain a current state certification/license.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Be on time for your shift, prompt with each appointment and perform services within the appropriate time allotted for the service.
  • Provide consistent professional massage and body treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
  • Effectively inform and educate our guests about specific wellness concerns.
  • Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the spa.
  • Actively promote the spas, treatments, services and retail through marketing and promotional events.
  • Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls.
  • Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products offered.
  • Effectively inform and educate our guests about specific wellness concerns.
  • Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa’s policies and procedures.
  • Perform prep work, properly clean and restock daily.
  • Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention.
  • Handle guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
  • Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests.  Possess the ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
  • Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the spa.
  • Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.
  • Participate in an “aggressive hospitality program,” greeting all guests with warmth and enthusiasm, and be attentive to their needs while they are with us.
  • Preparing standard statistical reports, such as help desk incident reports
  • Learn and follow all hotel policies and procedures pertaining to your area of work.  Follow established uniform standards and comply with all other company policies.
  • Practice safety standards and reports all unsafe conditions.
  • Provide fast and courteous service to our guests; to accomplish this, a well organized work area must be maintained.
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times as a goodwill ambassador of the AGPH to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Associate’s attitude, willingness to please guests, ability to get along with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Ability to follow established guidelines, procedures and policies.
  • Good record of attendance and punctuality at work.
  • Adherence to prescribed grooming and appearance standards.
  • Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must hold and maintain a current state license.
  • Must be familiar with each hotel’s layout, products, services, amenities and history

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before guests or associates of organization.

 MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to perform addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts or percentages.

 REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 The hotel functions 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.  All employees, both management and hourly must realize this fact and be aware that at times it may be necessary to move an employee from their accustomed shift as business demands.
