Architecture Co-Op
Performs technical assignments in connection with public works facilities construction projects . Work entails the application of basic architectural design skill and knowledge and includes drawings and reports, the
work of cataloging, reading and distribution of construction documents, researching materials and construction
techniques, and other related assignments. Basic project management skills are a “plus .” Under supervision of Architect
and/or Project Manager observes various phases of construction to insure that the project complies with contractual
plans and specifications. Documents observations of all technical work in building and facilities construction; provides
daily reports of work done on a project and provides necessary documentation as directed by the Architect and /or
Project Manager. Calculates quantities from plan drawings for cost estimation for project budgeting. Skilled in the use of
architectural drafting instruments and industry-accepted software, including AutoCAD®, Revit® , and Microsoft Office
Suite, and equipment in creating and
manipulating architectural drawings.
High School graduate and college student must be currently enrolled in a professional Architectural degree program at an accredited college or university, preferably supplemented with technical training related to the ability to read and comprehend construction drawings, Computer-Aided Design and Drafting and basic knowledge of construction of buildings and facilities.
