Software Engineer (Web Applications)

Software Engineer for Web Applications

The USU Research Foundation is seeking a motivated and team-oriented software engineer to develop database‐backed web applications to simplify and automate business processes.

Duties include:

·         Writing clean, consistent, and well‐documented code

·         Designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining web applications

·         Designing relational data models

·         Creating reports to support business needs

·         Providing operational support for existing systems

·         Becoming proficient in our OpenACS stack

(Solaris/OmniOS, PostgreSQL, NaviServer, Tcl, JavaScript)

·         Investigating new development tools and technologies

·         Collaborating in an Agile/Scrum development environment

 

Required Qualifications:

·         BS in information technology, computer science, or related field

·         2 to 4 years of web application development experience

·         Outstanding skills in two or more of the following:

o   Front-end web development

o   Application design and development

o   Back-end development

o   Relational databases

o   Software quality assurance

·         Experience in object-oriented development

·         Superior analytical and problem solving abilities

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Self‐motivated and customer-service oriented

·         Ability to establish and maintain effective team relationships

·         Able to maintain confidentiality

·         Must have or be able to obtain a DoD security clearance

·         Must be a US citizen
