Robotics Development Intern

Summary of Position
We are looking for Engineering students to help us create the next generation of home robots! SharkNinja is new to the home robotics space and growing quickly. We want to make our robots smarter, more capable, and all around cooler!

 

You will work as part of the robotics team to ideate designs, make and test them in the lab, test them in the field, and will likely see your wok in a store near you within the year! We move quickly and are looking for co-ops who are self-motivated, find new problems to solve, and work well with others.
 
Essential Functions

·         Support the development of novel concepts and technologies for our next generation of products: using a combination of sketching, CAD layouts, 3-D models and working prototypes to evaluate potential solutions.

·         Build test rigs in the lab while supporting the execution of verification and validation test plans.

·         Inject energy, enthusiasm and creativity into everything you touch.

·         Demonstrate integrity and honesty in the way you work

·         Evaluate and improve designs for cost effectiveness, manufacturing improvements, increased quality and value, and cool factor

·         Create experiences and artifacts that have never been

·         Repeatedly ask what’s best for the consumer

Attributes and Skills

·         A natural and effective communicator capable of reducing abstract concepts to reality, and debugging reality

·         Is naturally curious and relentlessly driven to find better solutions to everyday problems.

·         Able to quickly generate visual and physical definitions of new products that convey key attributes of function and layout.

·         Creativity and technical knowledge are crucial in this position.

·         Works easily with other team members, takes on work collaboratively and outside of area of expertise

·         Able to consider problems from many points of view, pursue multiple solutions without bias


Education and Experience

·         The ideal candidate will have completed 2+ years in an Engineering degree program, while maintaining a 3.0 (out of 4.0) GPA or better.

·         Experience fabricating, assembling and testing prototypes

·         Preference given to candidates with embedded programming experience

·         Great communication skills – with technical and non-technical team members

·         Self-starter, energetic, keen to learn

·         Flexible in approach

·         Candidates should have samples of design work, including sketch/work books demonstrating creative, problem-solving ability
