Electrical Engineer

*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (MUST meet minimum qualifications to be considered)

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree.   

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Experience with safety circuit design and integrating and programming servo drives.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to organize, plan and lead effective meetings.  Willingness to work overtime, when needed.  Ability to work in a fast paced team environment, including cross functional teams and multiple engineering disciplines.  Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.  Extremely detail oriented.  Proficient in MS Office software and strong PC skills.  A pro-active person who will seek out and implement additional projects that add value to the department and company.  An innovative problem solver that that is capable of making decisions independently using data, statistical tools and following the Plan, Do, Check, Act method.

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Design machines for manufacturing and product handling.  Modify machinery for new model introductions.  Write detailed equipment specifications for the procurement of manufacturing equipment.  Lead in the start-up and debug of new equipment.  Manage projects from inception through completion.  Train and support maintenance personnel.

 

PREFERENCES

Strong Basic ME skills: General Physics, Statics & Dynamics, Pneumatics.  Minor Programming skills: C++, Visual Basic, SQL database.  Minor Ethernet Networking: IP configuration, Managed Switches, NAT, Network configuration and Troubleshooting.  Robot programming (Denso, ABB, Fanuc).  Experience with Safety PLCs.  Experience with Risk Analysis (ISO 13849).

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job you may be asked to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift or carry component parts weighing up to 35 pounds-lifting parts in excess of 35 pounds with a lift assist, work on the production line for short periods of time, use hands to handle or feel parts, reach with hand and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear, use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, frequent phone use and typing.  The work environment will vary from an open office setting to a production environment.
