Linux Distribution Maintainer
One of our projects requires building and maintaining a custom Linux distribution targeting end users in the financial sector. We took a stripped-down version of Fedora, enhanced its security, and installed open source blockchain-related apps. Now we are looking for a Linux systems engineer capable of taking this project to the next level by making an open-source project of it.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of contributors to add new features and fix bugs
- Supervise test procedures to improve stability
- Maintain a custom repository of third-party open source tools
- Coordinate open-source efforts with the technical needs of the company and our customers
- Compile and publishing system images
- Maintain documentation
Deep Understanding
- IT security
- RHEL derivatives or other Linux distributions
- Deterministic compilation/reproducible builds
- Package management systems such as rpm, deb, or similar
- Git
General Requirements
- Fluent English. We are an international team and most of the business is conducted in English. You need to be able to speak and write fluently.
- Background in IT or Computer Science.
