WAGE RANGE:

$40,000 - $44,808 (Annually Adjusted)

HOURS:

Full Time

·         The Maintenance Worker/Electrician posting is in compliance with the St. Clair County hiring policy guidelines instituted by the Board of Commissioners.

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs a variety of skilled & semi-skilled building maintenance tasks. Activities will include electrical service installation, new circuit installation, electrical repair, preventative maintenance, generator service, heating, air conditioning, as well as carpentry and plumbing repairs as needed. Perform other building operations and maintenance related work as required.

 

 

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
  • Must possess a State of Michigan Journeymen Electricians license and maintain this license during employment in the position; qualified candidates must have held and worked under a State of Michigan Journeymen Electricians License for a minimum of 3-5 years.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety code regulations and the safe use of tools, equipment and materials needed to perform tasks.
  • Reasonable knowledge of local building construction codes.
  • Considerable knowledge in the commercial electrical trades, including knowledge in high voltage.
  • Reasonable knowledge in plumbing, carpentry, and small engine repair;
  • Installation, operation and repair of the various types of equipment involved in the operation and maintenance of buildings and grounds.

 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Prior to starting employment, the candidate must complete a satisfactory background check. The background check is understood to encompass all forms of pre-employment screening, including but not limited to: drug screen, physical, criminal background, driving record, sex offender registry, education, training and licensing verification, employment history, credit check, and professional and personal references.
  • Must possess a valid State of Michigan operator license and maintain this license throughout employment in this position.
  • The qualified candidate must pass LEIN background check to qualify for and retain position.
  • Ability to take and pass any tests for certifications.
  • Maintain required licensure throughout employment.
