Human Resources Internship

Primary Purpose:

The HR Intern will focus on creating resources and tools to align with our digital strategy of creating a sustainable, collaborative and agile work place designed to attract and develop employees throughout their career journey in order to continue growing MBFS as the premier customer-focused captive finance company.

Major Projects:

For each portion of their projects and day to day activities, we ensured that we were applying learning opportunities not only in HR knowledge but overall skill sets such as communication with multiple teams/departments/levels; time management with multiple projects/timelines/deliverables; and innovation with creating efficiencies and new ways to do conduct day to day responsibilities.

List of Activities:

Facilitation:

  • Provide exposure and opportunity to develop and grow presentation and facilitation skill set by participating and leading New Hire Training courses, Team specific training, and adhoc courses that may arise.

Digitalization:

  • Provide opportunity to utilize technology and creativity to digitalize elements of our training curriculum such as, catalog offerings, team building options, etc. This will allow the interns the ability to flex their curriculum design skills by translating word documents/PowerPoints/etc. into online resources or training options. The interns will also have exposure to other departments such as DTO and Communications for best practice sharing and knowledge gathering on different systems and options available for design and marketing.
  • Partner with multiple areas in HR to digitalize processes. This will enhance their knowledge of the overall HR process by exposing them to recruiting, onboarding, development and operations.        

Day to day activities: 

  • These activities will expose them to the nuances of the HR organization and provide real life/hands on application to lessons learned in school.

o   Understanding Recognition programs by assisting with Service Anniversary initiatives and President’s Award process. 

o   Learning change management techniques and understanding culture change in an organization with exposure to LS2020 and Agile Workforce initiatives.  

Qualifications: 

Please note this is a temporary, part-time internship and is able to work up to 29 hours per week in our Farmington Hills, MI office. Start date and end date are flexible based on candidates availability.
