Manager - Theme Nights

Overview

Responsible for creating, developing and executing all elements of our Club’s Theme Nights including but not limited to: research and development, ticket package development, sponsorship sales, marketing, in-game activation, operations and budget.

Responsibilities

Research & Development

  • Generate creative ideas for promotional items and Theme Night concepts
  • Monitor Theme Nights hosted by other MLB Clubs, as well as NBA, NFL and other Major League Sports franchises to complement internal idea generation
  • Collaborate with counterparts at other Clubs and franchises to gather information regarding concepts, giveaways, in-game activation, successes and challenges

Account Management

  • Manage all Theme Nights from strategy to activation to evaluation of success
  • Oversee Theme Nights budget as it relates to all Theme Night expenses
  • Manage all relationships with third party organizations as they relate to Theme Nights’
    implementation
  • Spearhead the design/production of all Theme Night giveaways with input from Creative Team
  • Work closely with Data Analytics to measure and track success

Sponsorship Sales

  • Work closely with Corporate Marketing and provide them with key event activation points for them to sell Theme Night sponsorships
  • Ensure all elements of sponsors’ contracts are met through marketing, promotion and
    in-game activation

Marketing

  • Work with Creative Team and Director of New Media on all Marketing needs to promote
    Theme Nights (e.g. email, social media, web thumbnails, end screens, in-stadium promotion, MLBAM emails, radio and TV drops as needed)
  • Partner with Media Relations Team on all press releases
  • Oversee brewers.com/themenights – responsible for content and updates with MLBAM Senior Marketing Producer

In-Game Activation

  • Responsible for all Theme Night elements of In-Stadium experience to maximize engagement
    for all fans – not just those who purchased special Theme Night ticket packages
    • Photo opportunities, face painting, character appearances, bands, as appropriate
    • Pre-game activities as appropriate
    • Coordinate all staffing needs with Brew Crew and others to ensure activation success
  • Work with In-Game Entertainment and Corporate Marketing Teams to incorporate Theme Nights into as many in-game promotions as possible
  • Work with In-Game Entertainment and Corporate Marketing Teams to maximize use of LED board, scoreboard, video clips, and in-game music and sounds to match theme
  • Work with Retail and Concessionaire to provide fans with specialty retail and concessions items related to Theme Nights, as appropriate

Miller Park Operations

  • Manage all redemption points and set-up for giveaway redemption
  • Manage all staffing for redemption
  • Secure all necessary credentials for guests participating in Theme Nights
  • Reserve plaza and concourse space for additional in-stadium elements as needed 

Miscellaneous

  • Responsible for additional projects as assigned by the Senior Vice President, Marketing & Fan Experience and Senior Director of Marketing.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university plus two or more years of marketing and/or ticket sales/service experience in the sports industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Computer Skills  

To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.    

 

Language Skills                                            

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Mathematical Skills                                                  

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability      

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, which may include heat, cold and various forms of precipitation. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

Work Hours                                                  

Business hours are Monday – Friday 9 am – 5pm, however, additional hours will be required on weekends, evenings and some holidays.
