Manager - Electronic Displays

Overview

Coordinate and program all LED displays. Initiate routine maintenance and oversee any needed repairs. Assist with the video and audio production needs of the Milwaukee Brewers for game day and non-game day projects.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor all Miller Park LED boards of working status and notify immediate supervisor of any issues.
  • Schedule and coordinate routine maintenance program for LED boards.
  • Serve as intermediary between MBBC and LED contractors.
  • Assist with videotaping and editing production projects.
  • Create, design and animate LED board projects.
  • Support Club functions including Marketing, Broadcasting, Community Relations and Brewers Enterprises by providing recommendations and creating designs for audio, video and LED production work for sponsors, advertising, fan requests and other Club functions. Creatively embellish and manipulate customer logos, copy and other items into new animated displays.
  • Program and operate LED boards during all Brewers home games.
  • Train seasonal staff in the game day operation of all LED boards.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

Education and/or Experience                                                

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training including the creative design experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Computer Skills  

To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.    

 

Other Qualifications                                                  

  • Knowledge of all Daktronics Sports Software (DakStats, DSTI, Sportswire, DCGI, Data Studio, DXTER)
  • Knowledge of Daktronics Communication Server (DCS)
  • Working knowledge of data triggers in DSTI - xml files coded to initiate graphics on displays based on changes in data fields.
  • Working knowledge of DCGI and writing OTF files - an OTF file is the XML file that Daktronics uses to parse data from the scoreboard stream and format it for CG. Important for any layout changes.
  • Working knowledge of Daktronics Data Studio and how it interacts with Statcast data from MLB
  • Must be able to work with File RTD - text documents that feed data frames.
  • Working knowledge of all All-Sport 5000 functions
  • Must be able to program and operate Show Control.
  • Know how to work with Venus 7000, Venus 8000, Venus Control Suite, Show Control, Sync Back for backing up files.
  • Be familiar with VLink 4500s and VIP 4060s
  • Be able to schedule and run POP reports in V7000
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and be familiar with Daktronics Customer Service for repair and return of hardware items
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, emphasis on After Effects and Photoshop. All animated content for fence and fascia should be uncompressed AVI's

Language Skills                                            

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Mathematical Skills                                                  

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability      

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, which may include heat, cold and various forms of precipitation. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

 

Work Hours                                                  

Business hours are Monday – Friday 9 am – 5pm, however, additional hours may be required on weekends, evenings and some holidays.
