2018 Intern Undergraduate - Technology and Integration Engineer

About this Opportunity

Herman Miller’s Summer Internship Program is a paid, 12-week opportunity that provides a 100% real-world experience for students early in their career. Throughout the summer you will apply academic learning to real-world situations and cultivate leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

As a Technology and Integration Engineer Intern, you’ll investigate and develop exploratory electrical and electronic technologies, as well as support existing technology developments for Herman Miller products.

  • Investigate, research, and lead at least one technology investigation.
  • Support technical program development activities (depending on program specifics).
  • Participate in group research activity and development.
  • Work with a cross-functional team to complete an intern project.
  • Attain on-the-job work experience aligned with your career objectives.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.


Sound Like You?

You might be just who we’re looking for if you are...

  • Knowledgeable about electrical/electronic properties.
  • Knowledgeable about the basics of hardware and software and the application of engineering science and technology.
  • Self-motivated with strong communication skills.
  • Experienced with wireless communications, Arduino coding, and C++ or other embedded programming languages (preferred, but not required).
  • Enrolled and pursuing a four year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with Electrical, Electronic, and/or Computer Science components from an accredited college or university, and able to provide transcripts upon request. You must have a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0 to qualify for consideration in the Intern Program.
  • Satisfactorily finished with the basic coursework in your chosen degree program.
  • In favorable academic standing within your current academic program.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Able to perform all essential job functions of the position with or without accommodations.
