ABOUT DAGA

The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) is the only national organization solely dedicated to supporting and electing Democrats to the Office of Attorney General. Our mission is to support and elect leaders into the state Office of Attorney General who will stand for justice, equality, and opportunity for all those living and working in America. We also educate the public on the important work Democratic Attorneys General do by serving as the People’s lawyers: creating opportunities for hard-working students and families, defending the rights of immigrant families and children, protecting access to affordable and quality healthcare, preserving reproductive rights, safeguarding environmental protections, and promoting equality. 

POLICY FELLOWSHIP

DAGA's Policy Director is looking for a Policy Fellow to assist with policy research and issues. The fellowship will begin immediately and will last for four months with the opportunity to extend the fellowship.  The Policy Fellow will work on many different areas of progressive policy, including reproductive rights, healthcare, consumer protection, immigration, and environmental issues. Responsibilities will include:

• Heavy research and writing
• Legal and policy analysis
• Tracking state legislation in key policy areas
• Drafting issue briefs with state specific updates
• Assisting with presentations and supporting materials as needed
 

Fellows must be able to commit a minimum of 20 hours per week for the initial four-month period and will receive a stipend of $1,500/month.  Fellows will work remotely with weekly in-person check-ins.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Detail oriented with the ability to maintain confidential information, knowledge of current events
• Ability to work independently and remotely
• Prior experience in issue areas above is highly desired
• Humor, initiative, and openness to evolving responsibilities
