MSUSA Summer Analyst - Structured Credit Group
Overview
Mizuho is looking for a summer analyst to join the Structured Credit Group. The team focuses on originating, structuring and distributing non-traditional structured debt and equity solutions for corporate clients globally including participating in M&A opportunities. The team is a market leader and provides solutions through a broad range of asset classes including transportation ABS (Aviation, intermodal shipping, structured and project bonds in LatAm, intellectual property monetizations and insurance-linked securities to mention a few. The individual will get exposure across a broad array of asset classes as well as gain familiarity in pitching to clients and transaction execution
Responsibilities
The candidate will join a team of 7 seasoned professionals with a robust pipeline and is expected to support the team on presentation preparation, modeling / analytics as well as execution. The team is a high intensity team having won #1 positions in ABS issuance in certain sectors – primary competitors are GS, MS, BAML. The candidate should be a strong, self-motivated learner, willing to step up and take on new responsibilities. A large proportion of the work is with English speaking clients, however Spanish language skills are a plus, but not a pre-requisite, to help support the ongoing LatAm initiatives, which is integral to the team. Other key responsibilities include:
- Modeling complex ABS transactions
- Prepare pitch books / marketing materials for live, high profile mandates
- Interactions with fixed income sales force
- Review transaction documentation alongside internal legal and external counsel
- Assist in the day-to-day management responsibilities of the team
Requirements:
- Junior
- Excellent written and verbal communications
- Detail oriented and ability to problem solve on his/her feet
- Strong analytical skills and presentation preparation (have worked in excel and power point)
- Self-starter and committed to the business
