Position Summary
Assist in all functions of the electronic trading environment.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Trading Associate Intern may vary depending on the specific business unit. Trading Associate Interns can expect their responsibilities to be similar to that of a full time Trading Associate. As such, the trading interns will participate in summer long electronic and open out-cry mock trading classes as well as a basic options theory course. Interns will be expected to become familiar with trading concepts and Wolverine trading philosophy. In addition, interns will be given real world trading and systems problems that will involve the use of their technical skills. This position requires the ability to effectively communicate with senior traders and other staff members while working towards the goal of completing and implementing their projects.
Qualifications
• Working toward a degree in financial engineering, computer science, finance, economics or mathematics
• Junior or Graduate student standing
• History of academic excellence
• Demonstrated interest in trading, financial markets, and technology
• Excellent quantitative and problem solving skills
• Entrepreneurial and self-motivated
• Strong communication skills and a desire to work in a team environment
• 3-month commitment
• Basic Knowledge of C++, C#, the .NET framework and SQL
