The Osten laboratory at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory invites applications for neuroanatomical and neuroinformatics postdoctoral fellows. We are looking for motivated individuals to join an exciting brain-mapping project funded by the NIH BRAIN initiative, which is focused on generating quantitative whole-brain maps of neuronal cell types, including their 3D distributions and cellular morphologies using several automated microscopy methods, including serial two-photon tomography (STPT) (Kim et al., 2017, Cell), light-sheet fluorescence microscopy (LSFM), and yet to be published oblique light-sheet tomography (OLST). The expected duration of the position is 3-5 years.

Qualified candidate should have a doctorate degree, at the time of appointment, in neurobiology, neurosciences, or computer science with excellent communication skills, and experience in rodent (rat and/or mouse) neuroanatomy at different levels of organization of the nervous system and/or data science and languages for web development such as PHP, Python or Java. The neurobiology candidates should have proficiency in statistical analysis, data and databases management, and ideally web programming languages while computer science candidates should have some knowledge of neurobiology.

Please include a letter of interest outlining your research accomplishments and include the contact information of at least three references. Applications can be sent directly to osten@cshl.edu
