Sr Education System Specialist

Position Information

FTE: 1.000000 (40hrs/week)

Exempt: Yes

Day Shift: Hours per schedule

Weekend & Holiday Rotation: Per schedule

Pay Grade: 14

Position Summary

This position provides professional, business and technical expertise for MidMichigan Health supervisors, managers, and staff. This is accomplished through analysis, planning, implementation and evaluation of system education / learning technology needs. Develops and implements training programs using a conceptual framework based upon adult learning principles consistent with the philosophy, mission, vision, values, and objectives of MidMichigan Health. This position maintains the learning management system (LMS).

Responsibilities

 

ESSENTIAL:

(20%)* Prepares analyzes implements and evaluates business and technical needs through discussions with leadership, managers, staff, specialists and formal needs assessments. Directs and/or collaborates in program development by setting goals, objectives, program content and identified cost/benefit issues based upon assessed need using adult learning principles. Assists managers, supervisors and staff to achieve success at MidMichigan Health.

 

(20%)*  Monitors daily tasks performed by the system administrators, and support staff to ensure master file reliability and database consistency and will provide education to support staff identified as not meeting polices and processes developed to ensure a consistent database and system reliability.

 

(20%)* Leads the coordination and implementation of new applications and upgrades. Develops a project plan including timeframes and resource management along with educational plan and end user training materials for all new learning applications and upgrades.

 

(20%)* Identifies develops and utilizes a range of teaching methods and techniques. Selects and utilizes data for cost accountability. Strives for Unified Communications. Interprets results of program

 

(20%)* Administers learning management system to improve educational offerings, and facilitates report tracking. Identifies, and implements best practice uses of the LMS. Analyzes and implements the most appropriate e-learning platform for educational needs identified through an educational needs assessment. Identifies implications from findings for future programs.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops custom reports-extracts and creates pertinent informational reports and dashboards.

 

Works closely with e-learning vendors and instructional designers to manage project timeline, content reviews, and course testing.

 

Run standard reports at an enterprise level.

 

Maintain learning management system test environments, including access and coordination of internal stakeholders and establishment of testing environment standards.

 

Qualifications


Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in one the following: Information Technology, Human Resources or Education, Instructional Design or related field is required.

Minimum qualifications for the Senior Education System Specialist position include three years’ experience with LMS operations. Project management in learning and development ideal.

Cloud-based Learning Management System

Creating, composing and editing correspondence and documentation

 

Excellent verbal and written skills.

 

Function as a liaison to the LMS technology provider and internal IT resources.

 

Performing routine analyses and calculations involved in preparing reports.

 

Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workflow and ensure duties and projects are completed on time.

 

Communication skills and professional demeanor to interact with all levels of management, other associates and counterparts internally and externally.

 

Ability to organize; manage, and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

 

Lawson, Crystal, SQL, Microsoft Access and Project Management experience is preferred.

 

A high level of energy with a results-driven attitude in a fast-paced environment.

 

E-learning instructional design (Articulate Storyline).

 

Creating learning solutions for tablet and collaboration tools.

 

Physical/Mental Requirements and Working Conditions

Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death.

 

Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.

 

Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.

 

Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s).

 

Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching.

 

Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MidMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required.

 

Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.

 

Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.

 

Physical Demand Level: Sedentary.  Must be able to occasionally (0-33% of the workday) lift or carry 0-10 lbs.
