IDI Technical Consulting Internship

The IDI Intern:

As an intern at IDI, you’ll apply coursework concepts to real-world problems while working alongside top-notch, engaging colleagues. Our Internship Program is geared towards students who have diverse backgrounds and are equipped to solve the complex, multidimensional problems that IDI consultants face every day. If you are selected to be part of our internship program, you will:

  • Gain valuable experience with a highly respected consulting firm that specializes in analytics
  • Work on a challenging and rewarding project in a field related to your studies and interests
  • Develop competencies that will prepare you to launch your career after completing your studies
  • Work together with other interns on projects of particular interest to IDI Management
  • Participate in our internationally attended training courses on Bayesian networks and decision analysis taught by our experienced instructors

Interns will work in fields such as:

  • Decision and Risk Analysis
  • Economic and Business Analysis
  • Operations Research
  • Modeling and Simulation
  • Systems Engineering

IDI is located in Vienna, VA.  Headquarters accessible from both the Greensboro and the Tyson’s Corner Metro stations.  



Qualifications:

To be considered for the IDI Technical Consulting Internship Program, you should meet the following requirements:

  • You should have completed at least three years of a bachelor’s degree or one year of a master’s degree in a field such as decision science, behavioral economics, data analytics, operations research, management science, physics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, information systems, or systems engineering.
  • You have excellent communication skills that can be used during client meetings and during presentations.
  • You have excellent computer skills.
  • You are self-motivated and can work with limited supervision/guidance.
  • You MUST be a U.S. Citizen - applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. You will NOT be eligible for the internship program if you are not a U.S Citizen. We cannot make exceptions.
  •  

The following characteristics are also highly desirable:

  • Active security clearance
  • Interest/concentration in national intelligence, national defense, cyber security or military operations.
  • You have experience working with one or more of the following analysis tools: Excel, Access, VBA, SAS, Matlab, Logical Decisions for Windows, Netica, @Risk, and Crystal Ball.
