Human Resources Intern

Position Overview:

TechSmith has an exciting opportunity in our Human Resources department! This internship will give the individual a hands-on experience of what the management, growth and retention of talent looks like. The HR Intern will work with the members of the Human Resources team and will gain in-depth experience in the day to day operations that are involved in supporting ~300 employees. The ideal candidate should be motivated, driven, extremely organized, and eager to excel in the field of Human Resources.

We are currently looking for an intern to start immediately, with the option to extend beyond if there is mutual interest.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recruitment efforts (to include: social network messaging, updating job boards, and partnering with our Corporate Recruiter to source candidates utilizing various recruiting platforms)
  • Participate in onboarding discussions and assist with development of companywide onboarding program
  • Assist with benefits paperwork and overview facilitation meetings
  • Prepare new hire paperwork and assist with recordkeeping
  • Utilize applicant tracking system to update candidate profiles and create sourcing reports
  • Assist with pre-hire activities (to include: background checks and employment verifications)
  • Create training materials and documentation for HR purposes
  • Assist with benefit audits to verify enrollments/terminations were processed in timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Background:

  • Proven ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and in a fast paced environment
  • Self-motivated individual who is able to demonstrate ability to take projects from ideation to completion
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
  • Interest in technology
  • Experience with managing social media
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • General knowledge of various employment laws and practices
  • Willingness to recommend new approaches, policies and/or procedures
  • You must be enrolled full-time in classes in order to be considered for an internship with TechSmith Corporation
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Requires at least 15 hours per week

Compensation and Perks:

Competitive pay based on skills and experience. This is an hourly position with TechSmith Corporation. Hours are based on a consensus between you and your supervisor. We require a minimum of 15 hours per week, however hours are limited to 28 hours per week.
