Logistics Engineer

Vibracoustic has an opening for a Logistics Engineer at our North America Corporate office in South Haven, MI location.

The primary responsibility of the Logistics Engineer is to design or analyze operational solutions for transportation optimization, packaging solutions, internal material flow, customer ratings improvement, process and methods analysis, cost containment, capacity enhancement, as well as routing and shipment optimization.

Your Task

  • Negotiate the contracts with our land based freight and complete optimization of pickups and deliveries while focusing on cost effectiveness.

  • Ensure compliance with our packaging guidelines for all material shipped from suppliers to our plants and sub-contractors.

  • Engineer the routings for our plant internal milk runs with the plant logistics teams maximizing efficiency and minimizing equipment traffic.

  • Cost improvement activities for all aspects of the Logistics department.

  • System improvements to make sure we are as efficient as possible with transparency at all levels.

  • Champion at least one customer rating to help train the rest of the plants.

  • Review process team projects and suggest future projects for improvement for all logistics activities.

  • Assist in logistics activities/projects at plant and corporate levels as deemed necessary.

 Your Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, Transportation or similar education preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Logistics.

  • Previous experience with supply chain processes, lean management, production management plus production processes.

  • Previous experience troubleshooting with suppliers, internal production and customers.

  • Project management of complex projects and teams.

  • Experience with SAP and/or Aurora as well as Microsoft Office.

  • Good math skills.

  • Ability to read blueprints.

  • Time management/project management skills.
